I am excited to have you as a part of my class and hope we can use this website to help you do your best!
My name is Mrs. Ruddy and I will be working with you for the remainder of the school year. I am excited to have the opportunity to get to know you and am sure that we will be able to achieve great things this year! 

I want to tell you a little bit about who I am. I completed my Master’s Degree in ESOL from SUNY Buffalo and traveled to Virginia to do my Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a focus on Spanish and English from Liberty University. While studying Spanish I traveled to Guatemala for two months to teach and live with a Guatemalan family.  This experience showed me how difficult it was to be in a foreign country and not understand the language or culture.

During this school year, you will be studying English as a Second Language embedded into the other core subjects. I will be working closely with your classroom teachers to help you learn the many different skills necessary for effective communication in the English Language. These areas include listening, speaking, reading, writing, vocabulary, grammar, critical thinking, and social/cultural development.  I am available to help after school Monday through Friday if there is any confusion about something we are working on.
