As part of the Superintendent’s Education Bargain and Student Academic Success Plan, Buffalo Public Schools (BPS) has created a system to mentor and retain highly qualified teacher candidates. Attracting and acquiring future teachers to serve in a dynamic, forward thinking district is essential. This is part of an effort to positively prepare future teachers to serve in the district. Candidates have an exciting opportunity to work in a diverse urban district with children from around the world. The district partners with area colleges and universities to allow for training experiences for students enrolled in teacher education and other professional preparation programs. BPS supports a systematic program of training for a diverse set of teacher candidates and graduate intern candidate from approved training programs.
